Testimony from The Bus Ministry
Oct 30, 2021
As usual this Saturday morning we prepared food, grocery and clothes for the needy, but this time we were not in a school bus, we were using our small car. We prayed for people in the name of Jesus. We shared the gospel and people listened. When we asked them to confess their sin and say yes to Jesus, they did. When we were willing to minister to the poor and needy, we experienced the power of the gospel and the merciful love of God. Below are testimonies of today.
Tracy was praying in the women rehabilitation center just before we came. She felt sad about the difficulties and struggles of the women there. Then we came. We brought them food, grocery and clothes. As Jolene led the women in prayer, Tracy wept with thanks to God. God answered her prayer and sent us just at the right time to cheer them up and uplifted them with prayer. God , you know how hard these women are going through and have mercy on them.
As we continued to drive through the Lexington downtown area,we saw a few black men sitting in the bus station. We knew they needed food and even more they needed care and the gospel. We gave them food, water and small bible. As Jolene shared the word of God, they listened. She shared her beautiful testimony of how God raised her up from a wretch and how God transformed her. The men listened quietly and I sensed they were touched. God, have mercy on them and delivered them from all kinds of addiction.
As usual , we went to the housing of the poor people. They came out to greet us and we shared food with them. Chrystal, a young woman we met for the first time, said, “ I am starving.” As she enjoyed the food, she told us her sad story of losing her unborn baby and she said she loved baby. We continued to share with her about Jesus and prayed for deliverance from her sadness . As we were praying for her, she kept stirring her food with her fork in a vigorous way and we knew she might have some mental sickness or spiritual warfare. God, have mercy on her and continue to save her.
Lastly, we went to the Hispanic area. We sent two families food and grocery and decided not to visit the teenager Juda as Jolene has assignment to finish. I felt a bit sad as I missed Juda. Before we got into the car, we saw Juda and her brother Emmanuel walking towards us. Ha ha, this is a divine appointment. Emmanuel who is a senior in high school started the conversation and told us what troubled him in his faith in God. We shared with him about true faith. Then he continued to share his struggle about his future as he wants to be a nurse and his difficulties in studying. Jolene who has been a nurse for many years shared with him what he can do to achieve his goal. This young man has simple faith in God and received the advice and all our prayers and blessings for him. If they walked back home a minute later we have left and the above meaning conversation will not happen. But God made this happen. Nothing will be missing in God’s good plan.
God, have mercy on the poor and the needy. They are made in your own image and are precious in your sight. Read Mathew 25:31-46
Come and join us every Saturday to serve the poor and the needy.
